Helmet Cam – Hockey Helmet

Posted by: | Comments (5)

Describes how I mount my Contour HD camera to my hockey helmet. Next will be mounting on Hockey Glass, for Skydiving, and on RC Planes. Subscribe if you’d like to see what comes next. – Ed ———————– Additional info: Where I bought mine: pointofviewcameras.com (See this site for current price, and all the specs, etc.) Has two record modes: HD – awesome – 1280 x 720 – 30 frames per second – 135 degree wide angle lense SD – 848 x 480 – 60 fps – narrower view angle They also have a newer model – the 1080p – has an even higher res. Media – Records onto a MicroSD card. – Makes mov files. – Record time: HD 30 min/GB, SD 60 min/GB – No viewing screen. (This is a good thing.) – Just hook to computer w/USB cable to watch (or transfer the card.) Battery – Goes for a couple hours – USB charge. (Charges when connected to computer) Colors – Good in most situations. For hockey (think big white ice rink) the colors are slightly dark. This is easily adjusted when you edit the video. Internal Microphone – A little bit quiet, but that’s probably because people are skiing down mountains, mountain biking, and skydiving with it etc. (wind!) Again easily adjusted later.

Go Pro HD first surf

Posted by: | Comments (24)

At last! Had the Go Pro for three months now but this was the first decent waves I’ve had since I’ve had it. That and a few tech issues, but its all sorted just in time for the autumn swells! This day was pretty good. Super lully though meaning the longest wait between waves. Constant rain and 40knot offshore explains the water drops on the lens. Fully amped on the Go Pro set up now! Cheers to sportscamera.com.au

This is a video test shot on the Contour GPS HD sport camera with the Contour Helmet Mount for cycling. The helmet mount allows the Contour GPS sport camera to be placed on any cycling safety helmet. It will allow you to film your biking in a point of view shot. The Contour sport cameras are similar to the Go Pro sport cameras that you can buy. Ever wonder what it’s like to get the holeshot in the 250b class, only to be taken out by a hay bale a few turns later and have to battle through the pack? You probably haven’t, but either way here’s the vurbmoto helmet cam of Cooper Webb riding in the first 250b stock moto at the 2012 James Stewart Freestone Spring Championship doing just that.
