Helmet Cam – Hockey Helmet
Posted by: | CommentsDescribes how I mount my Contour HD camera to my hockey helmet. Next will be mounting on Hockey Glass, for Skydiving, and on RC Planes. Subscribe if you’d like to see what comes next. – Ed ———————– Additional info: Where I bought mine: pointofviewcameras.com (See this site for current price, and all the specs, etc.) Has two record modes: HD – awesome – 1280 x 720 – 30 frames per second – 135 degree wide angle lense SD – 848 x 480 – 60 fps – narrower view angle They also have a newer model – the 1080p – has an even higher res. Media – Records onto a MicroSD card. – Makes mov files. – Record time: HD 30 min/GB, SD 60 min/GB – No viewing screen. (This is a good thing.) – Just hook to computer w/USB cable to watch (or transfer the card.) Battery – Goes for a couple hours – USB charge. (Charges when connected to computer) Colors – Good in most situations. For hockey (think big white ice rink) the colors are slightly dark. This is easily adjusted when you edit the video. Internal Microphone – A little bit quiet, but that’s probably because people are skiing down mountains, mountain biking, and skydiving with it etc. (wind!) Again easily adjusted later.

Airsoft CQB Manassas Virginia Ryan’s Helmet Cam [7/17/11]
Posted by: | CommentsHey everyone, back with another video from last Sunday: Ryan’s helmet cam. This isn’t any regular helmet cam though — this is Ryan’s helmet cam footage with his brand new WE G39K assault rifle and WE 4.3 Desert Warrior 1911 pistol. I get some good kills with both guns in this footage. Both guns out-performed my expectations, they are by far the best airsoft guns I’ve owned yet.

Épaule Du Charvet Tignes Black Ski Run 08/09
Posted by: | CommentsMe going down the Épaule Du Charvet lack run into Val D’Isere, in the Espace Killy, France. I filmed this with the ATC5K helmet cam that was parcel taped to my helmet as the bracket supplied was not good enough for rough stuff! Filmed on the 18th of December 08 in the first week of the 09 season when there was 1.5m of fresh snow and conditions were amazing. Check out my other videos as I will be adding a Skiing movie that covers all my week and many great runs.

Cycling with Gopro helmet camera
Posted by: | CommentsIv seen loads of videos where there are people on mountain bikes with the gopro hero attached to their head, and the video has always looked really good. I wanted to test it out for myself, however i am far to much of a pussy to do anything that would look remotely cool or impressive on a downhill section with my mountain bike so instead i tried a more soft core approach. Here the gopro was attached to my ventilated helmet with the supplied strap that comes with the goprohero2 outdoor edition. And i went for a cycle along the union canal from Ratho back to Edinburgh. (The union canal is the canal that goes from edinburgh to glasgow via the Falkirk wheel, very famous in scotland.) it is flat, as most canals are but there are some small little bumps on it. I recorded the video in the 960p so that i could get the most amount of field of view, i then imported it into final cut and converted it to 16×9 ratio then added stabilisation. The stabilzation sucked big time, it zoomed it in so far that most of the time you were just looking at a tiny bit of path, so i had to dial the stabilization down a lot, down to only about 0.75 on transitional and even less on the rotational and zero on scale. i then did some speeding up of the footage which you will see as i have annotated the video with the percentage of the speed that i have increased it by. . in general it seems a bit more difficult than i expected to get good smooth bike footage and that was even on a flat surface.
